We have an inverter split mini heat pump up at a summer place and while it can’t make the top floor cool it helps a TON for its size and its freaking amazing in the winter as it still provides usable heat pump heat to o F outside temps.

In California, one of the houses I lived in had a converted garage, which was my bedroom. It had one of those Mitsubishi “Mr. Slim” AC units. It was the bee’s knees.
